I've seen many, but normally from a distance and only partial ones.

Happened to me yesterday evening when I looked out the window at a passing rain shower and saw something that had be sprinting outside.

I grabbed the nearest camera to had, not wanting to miss what I had seen through the window.

This is what made me stare in wonder when I looked up and to the East when I got outside.

I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing and could only gape in wonder.

Photo does not do nature justice, and I wasn't taking the chance of getting my SLR and finding the marvel had gone.

A few photos taken, this being the best using iPhone 5 in Pano (Panoramic) mode

I did try the well known 'etchings' routine on a girlfriend once, but it didn't get me as far as I was hoping

I had seen a wonderful rainbow in Geneva, the end of the rainbow was in bank! certainly there was a pot of gold there but unfortunately I had'nt any access to the safe and haven't seen it, sorry.

Hi Geoff, I have seen such rainbows like that on a number of occasions when travelling in the works van to a job or coming back from one, but not having a suitable camera or not being in a position to use one, have not been able to record one. I do agree though that it is an amazing sight to see and always with the darker sky above the bottom of the two rainbows. Good shot you have got all the same.

Got a smaller one like that at sea, near a squall, and steered my ship right through it while trying to get a photo with a kodak instamatic

The photos were rubbish though, your one is a cracker

Yes, you can sniff Ferric Chloride, it smells rather acidic and I wouldn't recommend snorting it!

I got some Ferric Chloride from the local Chemist, it was an old bottle from his fathers stock of many years ago, according to him it was used in a cough mixture that he used to make up. I don't recommend you try it.

I was in the car with the wife driving to Harleston when she said stop I want to take a picture of that. It was as good as I have ever seen really strong colours and it lasted for quite a while. Your picture is very good, where we were e could only see some of it, well done. Keith.
