      Hi,

I would be grateful if anyone could point me to a supplier of aluminium which can be used for the cladding of small stationary steam engines. The thickness is 0.5mm and I would like it with a Matt black finish.

      Many thanks, Sarah

You could have a word with Stuart Models as they supply it with their casting sets, black anodized actually.

What about beer cans and paint the outside black – after the contents have been consumed, of course.

              Hi,

Buying it from Stuart's would be a bit expensive for the five engines I've been given to refurbish.

I've tried beer and soft drinks before and it's too thin unfortunately, which is a shame about having to go out to buy the beer 😉

              Thanks anyway,

              Sarah
