Amazing, and just confirms one of my strongest beliefs that nature holds the answers to most problems, and has invented/evolved solutions yet to be discovered by Homo sapiens

Geoff – Good day in the workshop, with photos to follow.

Look at how a crab or a spider's legs work, how they can fold into a small space and yet have full three-dimensional movement, using only plain hinge joints.

              Thanks for posting that, Jason

I was particularly interested to see that it's only the nymph that has geared joints.

The explanation given seems reasonable but; [for this forum, only] one has to wonder if the adults have converted to Poly-V.

                Sadly no sense of scale
Was given but for the smallest rotary structure must go to one of the bacterium…a filament sticks out and spins to propel the crita….when pulled oit of the bug an arrangement of polarised proteins is found on the root of filament..a change in charge in the body of the bacterium causes the filament to spin….

The world is not only stranger than we imagine it is stranger than we can imagine
