After fitting a new battery to my Draper 25-50mm digital micrometer the display shows 888888888, tried all button combinations but no luck in resetting to show zero, can't see a reset point anywhere.

The last time it was used all worked as normal but did not auto off so battery removed for storage as it's not used that often.

Anyone know how to reset or do I have to continue using by reading the engraved numerals ?

Thanks to both Ketan and Neil the mic is now working, not certain how it came about, shorted out the contacts but nothing changed when fitting the battery, left it in for 30 secs or so and removed it but when refitted still had a row of 8's. Moved the battery around making and breaking contact for 5 or 6 times and there were true numbers showing, refitted the battery cover and zeroed the reading, checked with the 25mm slip and zeroed again. All seems OK now except it hasn't turned off after 2 hours, will leave until tomorrow and check again to see if auto off is working.
