bought a mixed tray of bits + pieces at a rummage sale – these were included

they are all 3/8th dia rod, holes are various imperial sizes with depths between 10 and 20mm, two had small brass inserts when found (a loose fit in hole), the stubby one had a rounded over end – what would they be used for?
