      want to get grinder just for hss tooling rather than using my normal bench grinder.

      any recommendations for a good one pls?

          Why do you want something other than your bench grinder ? What tools do you intend to grind if it's lathe tools you really don't need anything different unless you intend to go the whole Hogg and use a tool & cutter grinder.

          A bit more info regarding your intentions or aspirations might help.

            sorry should have been clearer what i mean't was do i need special type of wheel?

            like for my tig tips i have green wheels on mini grinder specificaly for that job.

            will be getting seperate grinder as want to keep just for lathe tooling.

              Not the best tool rests. But then it's not in the price bracket of one that does. I tell myself I may someday make some.

                I sharpen most of my HSS tooling on a belt sander.

                    Mostly I rough out on a grit wheel and put on a quick polish with a diamond wheel.
