Throw away slot drill

Hello, I have just recieved a 1.3mm Clarkson slot drill,this will be used on brass only. On the box it states throw away, I understand that its difficult to resharpen a small cutter but I've seen this before on larger slot drills, its HSS I know that I won't throw it away.

The fact that they cost less than a fiver makes it uneconomical for industry to sharpen them so more cost effective to replace hence the FC-3 type are known as throw away. I sharpened some on the ARC EMG-12 when I had it for test.

Dennis Chaddock designed the Quorn tool and cutter grinder to enable these small cutters to be sharpened for making his model of a BRM engine.

Tony at work used FC3 1/8" end cutting throw aways to cut an axial locking pin hole on the inside of Hercules C130J propellor hubs. The holes were half in the aluminium hub bodies and half in the rear of the inconel studs which held the hub onto the gearbox output shaft. Not a job for the inexperianced or faint hearted. He used a huge SIP jig borer.
