Anyone tried tepurposing one of these as a tender hand pump? Is the body made of brass?

I think the body is alloy. Noel.

          Hello Duncan,

Following your lead on Vevor hand pumps, I have purchased one for the princely sum of £10. The tank is aluminium sheet. The sample I have works well and even the gauge agrees with my calibrated pressure gauge.

It doesn’t include an isolation valve or pressure relief valve for the vessel being tested. But one hardly expects that for a tenner.

I would think it would make an excellent tender hand pump for the larger gauge loco.

          Andrew.

I solved the riddle to my own satisfaction – I designed a completely different pump, fabricated, which mounts higher in the tender, not directly to the floor. Gives a better angle for the operating handle. I’ll keep the casting(s) to confuse whoever clears my workshop one day…
