There have been several in ME over the years – one designed by LBSC springs to mind – if I remember correctly it is in the construction articles for Tich, and was completely fabricated – no castings.

Not at home at the moment – I will try and find it over the weekend if its any help.

The hand pump for a Super Simplex by Martin Evans is pretty nice. Here's the one I made for my loco. It would work fine for a stationary boiler as well. This was all made from bar stock. It moves a lot of water and is easy to pump even against 100 psi. The handle on this one is removable, it's a stainless steel tube about 8 inches long.dscn1592 - resized 4.jpg

That is a nice looking pump you have there well done,l remember a few years ago now at a tractor show there was a chap there who had a model steamer that he was filling the water with a converted car fuel pump ,he just had a small handle fixed to the arm that used to run off the car cam ,wish now l had paid more time to looking at it ,mind it seemed to work very well and a cheap way to make a pump,so just a thought.

                    Thanks John,

If you are interested in drawings for this pump I can probably help you out. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I changed which end the pump discharges from. I also made the intake holes in the bottom closer to the pump  body.  I also added a packing nut to the pump ram.  I usually use drawings like these as a point of departure and modify things as needed.

Here's a link to a few photos of the construction of this pump: https://supersimplex.yolasite.com/Emergency-Hand-Pump.php
