Recently purchesed a boiler with a juliet chassis the boiler threads on the backhead for the regulator gland are knackerd.

Studs could be made and ive mad up a dummy set to test this idea and seems it will work ok, now the problem is silversoldering them into place as there is soft solder caulking directly above on top of the boiler shell so puts silber soldering out the question really for the most part.

Could i use a good compound like steam seal and screw the bronze studs once there made in ising said compound to seal them in place the temp trial ones i made up screw in tight with no wobble.

Im mainly wanting the loco for at home with an odd steam up in the garden on blocks etc, i doubt il get a chance to join a club after loosing my licence due to health reasons and can no longer freely get anywere with oit alot of hassle.

So public running is not on a list of things to do so idealy for now need to pass a home hudrulic and steam test for personal use and gain.

This model has been a major help in getting my health back on track for the last month or so and dont want to give up now but as stated dont have the means to get to somewere for helpbto rectfy the problems of the boiler, so having to go it somewhat alone to be able to enjoy it for myself………

So a effective but simplish repair is whats needed to get me back on track.
