          Hi there
          They are online.
You should be able to find them by searching for them.

Ken, the builder of the dredger that Richmond posted pictures of and that is at the top of this page told me that the valve gear as drawn does not work, so watch out before you cut any metal.

He also suggests using Tufnol for the two rods not timber.

The main page states that all 14 parts have been uploaded yet I seem to see only 3. Am I in error or just missing
                 their location?

The remaining parts are here but you need to be a subscriber to view, the alternative is to buy the back issues.

I built a version of Tubal Cain’s Trevithick engine, modified to the 1808 locomotive ‘Catch Me Who Can’.I worked from the published drawings and didn’t have too many problems.I made steel connecting rods as the original loco may have had wrought iron rods rather than wooden ones as used on Trevithick’s earlier engines. It is a very interesting project to build.

Where might I obtain the square headed bolts and nuts for this project, the source in the articles does not appear to stock them any longer.I note that the Guild of Model Wheelwrights are also looking for them.

Well you could make them, I picked up 6 meters of small stainless square bar for one of out members so he could make all the nuts & bolts for his 7 1/4G Locomotion.

I don't know of any UK suppliers that do square headed nuts & bolts but one of the German ME suppliers does them though I don't like the look of theirs too much, I'll did out a link in a while.

Square nuts here and here And I think its a case of silver soldering nuts to studding if you want bolts though making your own is likely to be easier.

Thank you very much for the links Jason.I was "steeling" myself for making them.I will check out the nuts at least part of the job may be easier. As a matter of interest I obtained photocopies of the M.E. articles from Brunel engineering who also supply castings etc.

I bought the back issues a while ago with a mind to making it 50% bigger, should not be too hard as they are all described as fabricated.

There are a few pics of a nice one here, just a bit too much shinny brass for my likeing though.

I must agree with you, a case of gilding the lilly!.I would like a working model and not a showcase job and the idea of scaling up is tempting.

                                    Hi JasonB

I have seen an all fabricated dredger engine and it ran nicely on compressed air.

It was built at drawing size though.

Diane is doing a Special magazine and it will include the drawings of the Trevithick Engine as a pull-out.

More information in the next few weeks.

                                    regards David

Well!! am darned if I can find/see them, the two links come up with

"Error The article cannot be found."

and the direct link comes up with

"Search Results Articles 21 to 1 of 1" and the rest of the page is blank.

                                      Yes, I am a subscriber !

                                      Could someone help me ??

Brian if you look at the dates of the early posts they are quite early on in the sites history. Since then a lot of the old stuff that was scanned and made available has been removed en-mass due to a few copyright issues. Not helped by newbie Keith resurecting an old thread rather than starting a new one

David, are you going to publish just the drawings or text as well? if just drawings is there any chance of uploading the test again?
