      Hi Everyone

I have begun a second apprenticeship in my 50's as a jeweller / metalsmith. I set myself up with a new workshop, Myford lathe & Emco FB2 stand alone mill, to make various bitts of tooling which are either very expensive or are not available. I'm finding what I learned in my teens when I was on the tools a little hard to recall, so hoping I can drew on expertise from others here.

What was our first apprenticeship for?

I was a maintenance engineer in a heavy fabrication company, but moved into design and quality assurance in my 20's, seems like a long time ago.

I can post pictures, Ive been making things which are specific to what I do so not really model making related, but may be of interest to some of you as a novelty )

Welcome Martin, 2nd apprenticeship eh, well done that man. Similar here, started apprenticeship as fitter/turner then switched to maintenance fitter, didn't relish the thought of standing behind lathe for years, switched to NVQ level 2/3 Assessor / Verifier for process & maintenance engineering, covering NVQ,SVQ, BTEC, C & G for the last 25 years inc. H & S ( Tech.IOSH ret. ) prior to retirement.

                George.
