This club have been at the NEC Classic Car show the last few times I've been. I had a chat with one of the gents on the stand last year, but no further involvement than that

When I were a boy… I had a Zip Silverstone 125 gearbox kart , which went like stink, and scared the crap out of me . One day i was going down our lane fairly briskly , on the pipe, ( t'was savage! ) and stepping out a bit , around a bend …….and crashed head on into the local Copper on his noddy bike , coming the other way , knocking him off it ! Ripped the knees and elbows out of his uniform and wasn't best pleased with me . surprise

Never grassed me up to my Dad though, yes

Noddy bike – sounds like the water cooled velocette valiant with aluminium leg shields if my failing memory serves me right. – something like the1950's ?

You could not really hear them coming – first you knew about it was the hand on your collar – happy days.

The noddy bike was the Velo LE not the Valiant. Used in the 50s and 60s, they'd still got a couple at the station in'72 when I started
