Can anyone please help with either drawings or a source of castings for a single cylinder Westinghouse brake in 2 1/2 gauge. I believe one was described in the gauge 3 Dee project but that no castings were produced due to it being not commercially viable. Drawings can be from any gauge as that way I can scale down and fabricate, or make my own pattern.

Are you looking for a complete design for a working one or just exterior views to make a non working one ??

Amesbury is the only person that I can think of that desccribed a working one on his 5 inch gauge Caledonian engine . It worked but he described it himself as very fiddly .

Exterior views appear on many full size drawings and many model railway magazine / book drawings . Get back to me if any of these will help you .

            Hi Brian,

The casting for Dee was going to be for the steam reverser, not a pump. I did produce the initial 3D design for it with the intention of having lost wax castings made but it would have been very expensive to produce it that way in small numbers.

Not sure if this is exactly what you want but LBSC did a Westinghouse pump and the drawing is available from Hobby Store No. LO84. I believe it is for 5" scale so it should be easy to scale down. If you click on the Hobby Store link you will find it in the LBSC Locomotive section.

Thank you all for your help. Also found details of Petrolea item as produced by LBSC from a club colleague. Think Ive got mopst of what I need for now. Once again many thanks.
