Can somebody please help me with the issue number of MEW in which the article and electronic diagrams appeared for a gear hobbing attachment for a lathe with electronic sinchronising. If I remember correctly it was written by an Australian modeller. (I don't have the issue and have to find it in the digital archive)

          Hello joey.

Using the MEW_Indexes ***LINK*** free application I found 18 articles referring the word hobbing.
There's only an article referring both words hobbing and attachment.
It's in the issue 95 the year is 2003/4 and the article's author is Mr. Whalley.
If you are interested in the other articles, please let me know and I'll post information about them.

          Best regards

MEW issue 193 has a gear hobbing article for a mill using an electronic sync.

The article in MEW 95 is for a lathe but not electronic.

The Electronic one is by Brian Thompson and is in MEW 108 with a wiring correction in 110 ?

The one in 193 is a copy of Brian Thompsons article revamped.

                Hello John Stevenson.

You are right. Than you for correcting me.
I used a too narrow criteria in the search.

However the issue you found is among the 18 I found.
I should have been more carefull.
Also not having the entire collection of MEW discourages me to look into the pages of the magazine.

                  Dias,

I only knew as I was involved with Brian in the development of the electronic hobber but I did have to check up on issue 95 to see what it was.

I can remember the later one in 193 as it was recent and I was interested enough to look at the link provided to see where to buy the unit but the quoted web site was that poor I couldn't find it.

However the description of how it worked and the pictures left me in no doubt that they had just copied Brains design with no accreditation of reference to him, poor showing in my book.

Thanks to everybody for the help. The one I was looking for is the one in issue 108 with correction in issue 110.
