Humbrol Brunswick green is what I use, comes in tins or spray cans and easy enough to buy on the net.

This is my beam done with it, maybe a bit darker than some of the Stuart green

Almost every colour under the sun is available as car spray paint . You'll probably find what you want straight away but failing that many proffessional garage paint suppliers can do an almost perfect colour match and supply a small quantiy mixed .

Some suppliers do colour mixing by eye and against a whole sheaf of test samples or against a sample of the actual colour . Some of the most modern machines use computer colour recognition and these are amazing to watch – sample recognition to fully mixed tin in under a minute .

              Hi Kevin

Stuart's do list a "Paint Set" under "Spare Parts" – might be worth a 'phone call if your are set on the "correct" colour. See here

Other posts have warned that, having just recently been under new ownerdhip, they may be busy.

              Cheers

Any paint factor will mix up a pot of any colour imaginable. If ypu can get the BS or RAL number they can do it without a sample. Otherwise they will need a sample at least 25mm square.

If you can get a sample to compare with the BS and RAL colour charts are here (allowing for monitor differences). For example Boxford used 'Smoke grey BS 381 692' as their standard grey for their lathes until the 1970s.

                Hope that helps,

                Regards

On my number 10, I used Humbrol Brunswick Green and Black.

Looks just like the photos in the Stuart catalogue.

                      Hi Kevin,

Just had a quick look at the Stuart site and they use two shades of green a dark one for the stands and a lighter one for the model itself or so it appears.

Looking at their pictures and the BS381 colour chart, and allowing for photographic and monitor colour distortion the lighter one appears to be Reseda green (RAL 6011) and the other appears to be similar (but not exactly) to BS 5252 16 C 39 Green.

                      Regards

                      Terry
