I have sent a PM to everyone who has shown an interest incase they don't read the thread, Takes ages as there doesn't seem to be a bulk emailing system.

Don't be putoff if you are still in your pyjamas or don't have a camera, you can still participate as a name only and listen in and view the presentation. You do need headphones or a speaker system but only need a microphone if you want to talk. There is a mute system that can catch people out. find the button at the bottom left of your screen usually.

Well it took several tries to get the internet up this morning – felt like the closing scenes of 'Flight of the Pheonix'…

Hopefully I will join you all soon

Sorry I missed it as I had to sort out a puncture on the car. Luckily I have all the right kit to sort it out and not have to find a tyre centre

I arrived to the meeting late but what I heard from Mike was informative, prefer evening times for a meet-up but of course that doesn't suit everyone.

Trying to find Colin so I can PM him for some detail of the Tablet DRO, sounds like a good project, perhaps if you read this Colin you will PM me.

Just a short note to say thanks to Mike for his excellent talk on his Stirling single, well-done sir, not an easy task taking on a part built model. Your approach in tackling the various issues I'm sure will reward you with a fine-looking/working model of what is my 2nd favourite loco of all time…

Great to meet you, other guys, too

                              Regards

                              Pete

Very interesting talk by Mike. I am not particularly into trains, but enjoy looking at them and can appreciate the many hours/years of work that go into building one. Taking on a part built one, that is then found to have some issues is brave. It was interesting to hear his thought processes as he worked through the problems

Good to be able to put a few faces to names that normally only see on posts.

                                Emgee, I have messaged you.

                                Regards

                                Colin

Great talk from Mike, chairman of St Albans DMES. Shows what can be done for a Model Engineering club meeting that doesn't involve going up to the track while it can't operate normally.
Hopefully we will find a new speaker to step up to the mark for a meeting next month, which we will time for the eventing to suit people at work and maybe some trans-Altlantic friends.

In the chat after the talk we had a good idea for something to do with milling machines that Neil might put in MEW so I will keep that quiet and mention of a cheap DRO display using an Android phone. (drat, don't suppose it works on an iphone or my ancient android tablet).

I think we had 23 on the call.

                                      MIke and Bazyle, many thanks.

An interesting talk and a great post talk discussion.

Before the talk it was mentioned that someone from Filton/Bradley Stoke could be joining the meet-up. Did he?
