I'll stand to be corrected, but I thought ME threads were based on BSW/BSF thread form, which would put the included angle at 55°, whereas UNS is based on Unified threads at 60°

p.s. no question is stupid, but beware of some of my answers. blush

p.p.s. Lots of useful stuff on this chap's website ; particularly the Data and Tables tab

Bill is right, here or here are charts of American screw threads, and here for ME threads.

You want the UNEF 1/4 x 32 for glow plugs, mini sparkplugs etc.

If you need one of these taps or dies you can try LPR toolmakers in Victoria , they are usually my first port of call for odd sizes or obsolete thread forms .
An engine i’m looking at building – The M.E. Beam engine requires a 10BA – LH thread for the throttle linkage adjuster nut and one end of the throttle rod ( creates a turnbuckle arrangement ) try getting one of those here in Australia 😫.

Thanks XD, I wanted to make up some extra BIX gas burner copper lines with gas jets for some steam engines and the thread is Me 1/4" x 32" I have all the other ME taps & dies except that. I get a lot of stuff from LRP we are lucky that we have them for a lot of things. Getting them in from the UK, the postage is always rising.
