Tom Senior Bull Wheel Pin

I have just bought a TS mill which is missing the locking pin and all other parts to lock the pulley and bull wheel.

I would be gratefull for either a photo or drawing of the pin and the means to keep it engaged or dis-engaged. There appears to be a threaded hole about 1" from the pin hole, which I think must be for some form of locking plate.

Hi Mike,
There is some information in issue 156 (Autumn 2009) MEW about restoring aTom senior mill that may help you. On page 40 there is a picture of the locking pin but it is not very clear. There is also a diagram on page 42 which shows the locking pin. It shows the pin as 3/8" dia with two grooves spaced by 12 mm. I think it shows that the length between the inner groove and the end of the pin is 18 mm (the 18 mm is printed on the drawing of the pin with no demension lines.) At first I thought it was the diameter but a note says that the diameter is 3/8" I suspect the threaded hole retains a spring which engages with the grooves to retain the pin in either of its two positions. Hello Mike,

I've lost patience trying to download picture and sketch here, look in my photos for Tom Senior Drive pin, I have sketched the dimensions from my 'Junior' and taken a photo of how they are arranged, pin to spring, on the machine.

Release by pushing the spring away to engagethe pin in the two postions

I hope that helps you. the pin is soft by the way, easy to make and the spring clip would not be difficult to make up either
