No aerial at present I did a Freesat search and not on there.

we probably watch this channel more than the other main ones! If you're an oldie try to catch its Saturday mornings when they do a session like the old childrens Sat morning matinees – including serials – currently running ' Radar men from the moon ' (11.30 am) , so unbelivably bad Sci-Fi it can't fail to raise a few laughs.

I'm having a bad day!

Spilled some bird seed. Dropped, or rather knocked, a pan on the floor. Allowed the same pan to boil over, and now seen a programme which I didn't think much of.

Perhaps I should go back to bed!

That channel must be unique, it's a family business founded by producer/editor Noel Cronin, and run by his daughter Sarah Cronin-Stanley with her husband Neill Stanley.

The Cronins run Talking Pictures TV from their house in Hertfordshire. They schedule the running order, acquire new films and carry out the day-to-day mechanics of running the channel at home,

Noel Cronin says that choosing what to buy is “based on suitability for the channel and then price”.

Don't we all have those days! On friday drove 2 miles to local garden centre which had some good offers on bedding plants. Saved about £20 on what we would normally spend – happy bunny. Came out to put same in car noticed flat tyre! Long story short, tyre u/s ended up with final bill of £120. unhappy bunny.

It probably was but then I was about 19 then which makes hell of a difference.

One of the things I like about this channel is the old B&W films which have normally have a plot, a beginning, middle and end. Yes, some are corny and you normally know who's done the bad deed from the start but you don't have to think about it too much and be over-stimulated with grossly unbelievable CGI as in many modern films.

I must be honest and admit they also show some real 'turkeys' at times!

I think it's the best channel of the lot, in fact I'm watching another episode of Look At Life being shown on there now.

I'm hoping they will show all those old Trade Test Colour Films produced by Shell and BP that were repeated regularly on BBC2 throughout the 1960's and early 70's. Such as The Home Made Car, Paint, Giuseppina, Prospect For Plastics and The Motor Car Engine plus many others.

Another avid viewer of this channel. I particularly enjoy the 'Look at Life', 'Glimpses' and the educational shorts.

I despair of many modern produced programmes where they prefer to overlay the background incidental music to the mumbled narration and the minimal content.

The films and programmes on this channel are better for me. I suffer badly with tinnitus and normally have to listen using headphones to prevent general background noise drowning out the soundtrack or narration, less so on this channel because of the mainly clear, concise speech etc, despite the occasional iffy soundtrack quality….Long may it transmit.

I think modern day diction amongst actors is dreadful. I watch some things and don't have a clue what they are saying. I know my hearing is not as sharp as it was many moons ago but my argument I never have this problem watching old movies or tv programmes. Don't modern actors have speech training anymore, they don't have to speak posh middle English either. Many well know actors have retained their regional accent and have perfectly clear diction. On the other hand I've been amazed many times to see a well know, usually older, actor speaking in their normal voice and was stunned that they were 'posh' having always thought they were Cockney, Brummie, Geordie, Yorkshire etc depending on character you were familiar with, proper actors with a broad band of talent.

Never had one single moment of not hearing actors in the Carry on films!! and all that with 'ancient' sound reproduction equipment.

And what about Richard Wilson, he of One Foot in The Grave fame. Born & bred in Glasgow no less, yet speaks with an almost plummy accent.
