I received two separate messages for Paypal today. Apparently.
The sending addresses looked genuine (no peculiar spelling or punctuation).
‘View Source’ suggested nothing untoward (no weird secondary addresses).
Each said one of my cards, one debit the other credit, was about to expire, and quoted the final four digits of each.
Now, could it be real? Neither of my present card numbers end with the given digits. I still have my previous credit-card, cancelled and not yet cut up for workshop shims: no match there either.
Yet I use PayPal so rarely it is possible the numbers it knows were of previous cards.
I still took the safe way out by reporting them.

(My portable ‘phone will need topping-up soon, and I may need register a new card to it because I last topped it up at least two years ago. Last time, I found it difficult because I had changed cards so may need the O2 shop’s help.)
