Practice grinding tool shapes

Hey,

I've only ever used the white Alox wheels to grind tool steel – am I likely to mess them up if I use softer mild steel for practising grinding the shapes of unusual tools like worm cutting tools ?

Probably not but there is some risk that they will "Load the wheel" that is bits of mild steel will cling to the bonding of the wheel. Easy enough to dress off though.

Am happy to dress the wheels if they load up – no problem.

Off to see if I can make some worm cutting tools.
