newby needs help with lathe

hi all

i have inherited what looks like a faircut lathe although bits of it have gone missing the most important to me is the chuck and back plate the spindle nose is 3/4 10-12tpi approx but cant seem to find anything to fit and was wondering if anybody knew where i could purchase one or somebody willing to make one?

I will add pics as soon as i can and any info on this lathe would be greatly appreciated esp if somebody is in south devon that could show me how to set up the tool posts

Hi Simon,

Others may disagree, but as this is a fairly modest sized lathe witha relatively light spindle, you could consider getting a backplate made that has the mounting holes and register for fitting mini-lathe sized chucks.

This would keep the costs down and you would only need one backplate for 3 & 4 jaw chucks and a ER collet chuck (if you ever want one)
