Good to hear that its all running. How much metal have you machined this afternoon?

The wire links that you fitted can be used for an emergency stop function. Give me a shout if you decide you want to fit one.

Man this old mill makes me smile . Cut my first chips this afternoon and I’m delighted , next is to suss out how to save the setting on the vfd because I lose them every time I turn off the power . And also need to get the variable speed function up and running .

It's probably worth building a separate control pod that you can mount on or beside the machine. The ventilation slots on invertor drives are not set up to cope with swarf and a piece in the wrong place would kill the drive.

A simple pod with go, stop(and/or emergency stop) and a speed control would be easy to set up.
