The P.M. should not require a workshop to pursue his model making hobby. The kitchen table and a few woodworking/crafting tools should serve his purpose in the construction of model buses from wine boxes .

Equally the hobby of model engineering can be conducted in the kitchen as many batchelors can testify. I thought you married men needed the workshop as an excuse to get away from the one you love so dearly you have given her half your worldly possesions now and all of them on your early death.

Bazyle you are absolutely right, an early death caused by constant whingeing about decorating the house and doing the garden and then taking her ladyship anywhere she wants, when she wants, usually days that clash with model engineering events.

I have never come across anyone in enginering without a sense of humour, some very dry people of course who may come across as humourless. Anyone that has worked on a shopfloor, certainly back in the 60s as I did will know that.

I really believe that the dramatic change from industry to finance has deprived us of a generation with a sense of proportion and pragnatism, I stopped watching the news broadcasts because it was an endless parade of the the 'back to the future' journalism. I wonder if anyone of them would take on the PM's job at the moment.
