img_1508.jpgThe machine I got has a 3 phase motor which runs of an inverter and is set up as shown in pics there is a variable speed control which is on top of the box with the key in it.When I turn the key for forward or reverse it runs ok but when I turn the key to switch it off it trips at the inverter which then says "out "as can be seen in pic,and I have to press the reset button to get it going again, any ideas what the problem might be?What is the max min dial for?img_1504.jpg

Possibly the braking parameters are set too low and it's the over voltage error.

It's a common fault that people often do when they realise they can use braking. If they stop too quick without proper braking resisters the back EMF stuff the whatsit up or something just as technical.

Andy, if you google LS sv-ic5 you should find the operators manual that can be downloaded, looking at your photo's this could be the manual for you…………….DDT

Hi Jihn thank you for reply. This is the first machine I've had with an inverter so no little about it could you explain in a bit more detail and is it possible for me to fix?

DDT,downloaded the manual didn't realise there was so much to it.The "OUT" warning it says come on when

"The inverter turns off its output if the DC voltage of the main circuit increases higher than 400 V when the motor decelerates. This fault can also occur due to a surge voltage generated at the power supply system"or

"The inverter turns off its output if the DC voltage is below 200V because insufficient torque or overheating of the motor can occur when the input voltage of the inverter drops"

Don't understand this or how to fix it.

                  Andy,

The honorable Mr Stevenson I am sure has the cause spot on. The error is an Over Voltage Trip. This is most likely caused by an over aggressive setting on the deceleration time. The default on this inverter is 10 seconds. It may well have been configured to a shorter time, whcih is unsuitable for the machine. This can be changed with the appropriate parameter.

The user manual can be found at https://www.inverterdrive.com/file/LS-Starvert-iC5-Manual

These manuals can be a bit daunting to the unitiated, but if you read through and then work through the config method, it should become clear.

                  Good luck!

Sorted.Thank you all very much.It was the deceleration which I turned up to ten. What setting would you recommend now that I know how to change it.Learning all the time, when I looked into that box today I may as well have been looking into a bush.

Two should be as low as you need to go and usually that low a figure doesn't cause any problems.

What was it set to BTW ?
