How big is the camera? – ‘Clock Domes’ can be had in glass or acrylic in substantial sizes and are surprisingly cheap –

..one could turn a ‘monoblock’ base and shaped plinth from wood and fill, seal, sand, and paint it in a light neutral tone – or use something like an acrylic support fixed to a plain base..
If there is a thread in the bottom of the handle, an elegant /interesting contemporary ‘swivel-head’ might make a suitable support for display.
For later 20th century instruments I don’t think ‘natural wood’ is often an appropriate visual partner..
Whether you use a dome or case, maybe use a tall one and try and mount the camera quite high up inside, so that it’s easy for the viewer to see it in the round rather than be only ‘looking down’ on it.
