I have a 2 point steady with centre height around 5 inches, can anyone identify what lathe or machine this might belong to?

It is for an OD grinder.

These type are used on a cylindrical grinder to support long thin shafts.

              Thanks David and John

The steady was in a box of parts that came to me with a Myford MG12 (10 inch wheel version). It does not suit the grinder as the centre height of the steady is too hign, does anyone know what OD grinder it might suit?
