On a similar theme I made these sticks to make some nut crackers. These are a complete set for them

Loved the video, well made and informative. I’ve used similar techniques in the past using steel rulers, with mixed results – the tickstick seems much more accurate and reliable.

Nothing new under the sun eh!

Thanks for the video link John. That Tick Stick for finding and laying out the point to point dimensions is something I’ve never seen anywhere before. Actually a very clever method in my opinion. As the video mentions, maybe not needed often, but one certainly worth remembering.

I don’t know about the UK, but Dalboy’s method would be called a story board or story stick here in North America. Very useful for replicating multiple parts at very close to the same dimensions.
