      Hello,
I am looking to require a pdf copy of the manual for my mk ii Clarkson cutter grinder.
I have a manual of the earlier mk I grinder, however, my machine has additional features and I would welcome the correct manual.
If anyone is able to help I would be very grateful.

I’ve had a look through my PDF files on the computer and can only find Mk1 manuals other than for the radius attachment.  I’ll have a look in the workshop in the paper manuals.

To be honest and as far as I can remember the only major differences other than cabinet shape is the Mk2 has a graduated dial on the head elevation screw and likewise on the infeed screw on the table. There are metal shelves at each end of the table and there is change in the rear of the saddle casting that allows the spiral feed attachment to be fitted.

My recollection is that there was no separate Mk2 manual. The later versions of the Clarkson / March manuals cover both MK 1 and 2. My one has basic references to the Mk2 but I’ve seen a later one with rather more Mk2 specific information. I think you also need to go hunting around the various accessory manuals to get data of the right vintage. The one that springs to my mind is the radius attachment. I have the older one which is very much a Mk1 product. The Mk2 used the later version which is, I think, a different manual.

Its all a bit of a mess.

Tony at http://www.lathes.co.uk has a complete data pack for £78 covering all 3 marks, the re-badged versions and the accessories. Perhaps a bit on the expensive side but if it’s all there …. When I think of the time and effort its taken me to get all the data together for my Mk1, not to mention the annoyance of A4 size main manual and baby size accessory booklets the cost doesn’t seem too bad.

              Clive
