which one is ok .for smaller peaces ?

2-20mm range ,but how to mount it …. they sell only collet chucks ..

The RDG one is placed into the lathes spindle taper and pulled in using a drawbar, this has the disadvantage of not allowing long pieces of work to be held.

The Chronos one fits onto a backplate that you will have to buy separately and machine but you can fit long work into it.

Against the problem of coping with long work, the taper fitting (your RDG version) is quicker to set up, as concentricity is (almost) guaranteed.

But do remember that both these ER collet holders are available from a range of suppliers, not just the two you mention.

Interesting thought Tim, I would have said that the backplate one can be fine tuned when first fitted to the backplate to give very good concentricity and that will remain whenever the chuck is fitted. The MT version is only as good as it is made and can't easily be fine tuned if it is found to be lacking.
