      just making the throat plate and was wondering is the radius also flanged aswell as the sides ( i belive not) its on a tich boiler

          Best to follow the drawings. I don't know the Tich design but the radius where the radius joins the barrel is not usually flanged. Some designs call for a curved L-section to be fitted on the outside but this shouldn't really be necessary.

            thankyou russell i didnt think it was just seemed weird for the plates to be flanged yet that joint to be just butted up

              Hi MB1 ,

              On the original drawings the throatplate just butts up to end of boiler barrel . Its a truly awful design feature but nevertheless common practice . My boiler , as made many years ago , is made as drawn but if doing it again I would put certainly add some simple reinforcement .
