Due to a combination of deteriorating eyesight, reduced manual dexterity and a generous helping of cackhandedness I have made severe inroads into my stock of 1.5mm cutters. Looking around, I am astonished by the terrific increase in the cost of replacements since I last purchased. A familiar cry, I know, but where might I best pursue my quest?

His prices are very reasonable if he's got what you're looking for.

I find it cheaper to buy carbide tooling now instead of HSS. A trawl on Ebay will usually come up with something or as I did on my last purchase MSC from the monthly offer sheet. MSC are showing three flute disposable in1.5 size for £3.05 plus VAT this month in 5% cobalt HSS and £6.44 plus VAT for carbide.

My experience of small carbide cutters is that you only need to squint at one to make it go >ping<

If you keep snapping them I'd be tempted to stay with HSS.

Or even still, opt for a horizontal cutter or slitting saw for narrow slots..

How about 10 for £6.50?

**LINK** Depends on material. These work OK on plastic & non ferrous. Must run fast though.

I agree – I have switched back to HSS in the 3mm size – and these guys do 50 for GBP20 **LINK**

So far, 2 blunted, none broken, running them at 10,500 rpm in Al

Had a look on here… Banggood .com & saw this…

1 x Internal Lathe Threading Boring Turning Tool with Blade for CNC Machine (1032420) £5.33…

so ordered one … lets see how good VFM it is.

APT have great prices and stock range of carbide end mills with next day delivery if the order is placed before 4pm. I don't use anyone else.
