Plenty of Mecanno-ists out there still, the nuts and bolts are crap anyway, if I recall 7/32 and sloppy as hell. Give it all to a deserving cause.

I use Meccano sometimes for prototyping or to provide a frame for something I've made. It's a useful workshop accessory, and I occasionally use it as a source of metal. (Not high quality).

I have friends who are into grown-up Meccano models and know that some people collect it seriously. Much depends on condition but some parts have rarity value.

You might earn a bob or two by selling it on ebay or a site like this one.

So that's what happened to my worm gear.

There are a lot of us who one day will just not be able to get out to the workshop and may have sold all our machines too. However a box of Meccano can allow us to keep our mental and physical dexterity alive.

Yes, indeed, and not just nuts and bolts, either. I have dug up in the garden stuff with better threads than some of the offerings on that well known site that no-one seems able to bring themselves to say.
