Saddle off the Myford, so hoping to get a piece of tube that can be cut to size and cleaned up with a bit of fine emery paper and made to fit.

Headstock is on so can spin the chuck, but cannot turn anything from the toolpost.

Looking at the old part the bore looks smooth, may be a weld mark so could be welded tubing, so I'm hoping that it was fabricated with off the shelf tubing.

Thanks Tim, have a few old handlebars around here, as you say a bit on the thick side.

Trying to find a bit of 7/8" x 20g tube, Have an old mop handle, but the wall is too thin, and outside diameter a bit of a loose fit.

The outside diameter is 7/8" (.875" ) and the lead screw is .750" With wall of .036" have a clearance of .053" so have .0265" clearance around the leadscrew.

Been searching to see if it matches a Reynolds size but have not found anything yet.

I would have thought Myfords bought an off the shelf standard size, as it looks like a length of tubing with no machining marks.

PM sent to Brian Wood, have also ordered a length of brass from the company that Kwil suggested, have a couple of options now.
