I've opened a drawing I did in Draftsight using NanoCad free edition. It works pretty well, but there are some lines that I can't select, move, delete or anything. I've checked for locked layers, none.

It's not calamitous as if I just select everything and copy it somewhere else it leaves the locked lines behind, but a nuisance.

      Anyone got any ideas?

They could be "construction" lines ?

Not sure about that cad program, but i have had a similar issue in the past with Autocad.

What i used to do was save the drawing as a block.

Then explode the block, it usually worked. Then saved back as a DWG.

I don't use construction lines, not knowingly anyway, and copying chunks of drawing is probably as easy as Steve's method and won't unwittingly explode real blocks, but thanks for the suggestions

There are wobblers when you use different drawing packages on a file for sure. I use Librecad with linux on a Chrome book. I sent some files off for a laser quote and the guy said my lines were all green and dotted? I sent the same drawings to a mate running a newish version of Autocad and they opened fine? I suspect the issue was caused when I imported the drawing as a block and exploded it, don't know where the dotted lines came from? I had used green construction lines but had deleted them, night mare.

I have since sent the laser firm drawing done with normal techniques and they are fine ?
