As the title says i have recently aquired a small Maxwell-Hemmens boiler and need to clean out the boiler feed thread and discovered it is a slightly non standard thread as above top diameter is .231 and as near as i can tell 48tpi.Thanks

It's also close to 12-48UNS which has a max major diameter of 0.2151". This means an accurate tpi or pitch value needs to be found before going any further. It's not what they are designed for but thread gauges can be used to clean some debris out of small female threads. If you don't have any thread gauges this may be the time to get some.

Thanks very John it matches up very well. I must assume the boil is continental with threads like that all the fitting are very well made for what i assume is a commercial boiler. The feed is on the other side.Thank you all for your help Graham
