The CSB was introduced in the early 'fifties as a simplified Model C, changes were mostly to the transmission pulleys etc, but it didn't have the gearbox. It didn't prove very popular.
The inclusion of the 'A' in this ones serial number (CSBA) seems to indicate a factory modification to include the gearbox, as 'A' and 'AUD' models had the gearbox as standard.
This one has been on ebay recently, and was sold for the minimum bid, but the buyer seems to have changed his mind as here it is again, but the seller doesn't mention this.
I have had some underdrive pulleys from the seller, some time ago, and he seemed a regular guy.
Tempted to go and look at it, but daren't buy another lathe that needs fixing! Especially as I've got a model 'A' and a taper turning attachment.
Probably worth a look with a view to breaking for spares, if you have the time and space.
