      @davidc

      I have 2 Myford Super 7's, one was my fathers, it's a little bit older than mine and mine has a gearbox and a couple of other extra bits.

      While I was getting the serial number off dads the other day I noticed in the half light what appeared to be a slightly different shape to the casting.

      Closer examination showed it was in fact screwed to the drilled tapped standard holes on the rear.

      I know it was nothing that dad had attached anything to so have not been able to find out what it's for.

      I did initially wonder if it was part of a taper turning attachment but it seems a bit short.

      Thanks

      David

            Hi Nobby.

            Thanks for the info. Yes, a picture would be brilliant if it's no problem.

            Thank you very much.

                Thank you so much Nobby for taking the time to do that. It has been a MASSIVE help. I do not remember seeing one of those on Dads lathe, ever, so it is possible it was left on by the previous owner many years ago. I'm sure I would have remembered seeing that or helping to set it up for him when he became blind (but still did his Burrel Showmans engine!).

                Thanks again

                  Unfortunately, the length stop cannot be fitted at the same time as a taper turning attachment. I have both, but I find the TTA is somewhat more useful unless you are into serious mass production.
