I have a personal soft spot for Adept and Super Adept lathes.

For some time I have been planning to set up a very simple register of these machines. Basically a facility for people to send me details of their machine, and I put them on the web and let them have a serial number.

It's largely meant as a bit of fun, but they are a really cheap way for anyone who wants to try their hand at restoration or customisation of an old machine to have a go. Perhaps one day we could have a grand meet up of thousands of Adepts!

The register's home will be HERE any comments or suggestions welcome by comment or email. I will be opening the register with my machine later in the week, which will give people a format to follow,

The most obvious long-term development would be adding a list of Adept shapers, but that can wait a while!

If anyone out there would like to donate an Adept that I might refurbish then please PM me.

I know, I know, some people will think I need my bumps feeling but the my tablets haven't started working yet.

I will now hide under the duvet until the flak dies down.

Have some sympathy for this poor deluded soul.

Unfortunately Ed – it turned out that he wasn't one.

We know this (now) because when they slung him in the village pond (still clutching his lathe) he didn't come back up again. Whereas (if he had been a Witch) then it's a well known fact that he would have floated….which he didn't

But as the old saying goes – Hindsight is a wonderful thing….

Which village pond did they throw him in ? might be worth going fishing to try and hook the lathe…………..

Ian, There are far more scientific and logical ways of finding out these days. We used the same 'duck method' as in this clip. We are fair in judgement. We are not Barbarians.!
