I have just received a replacement M3 x 0.6 Die. I ordered a carbon steel die on the internet on Sunday and it arrived on Tuesday but I was too busy till yesterday to try it. I only need one screw, in brass, for a small telescope on a walking stick so I thought that a carbon steel would be ok. I put it in my die holder and tried a cut but it was too small so I loosened the outer screws and tightened the centre wedge screw and there was a ping and the die broke. I called Tracy Tools and straight away they said they would send a replacement and today, the next day, it has arrived but the replacement is a HSS die not carbon steel and no charge. Absolutely magic and job done.

Very good service. They are likely aware (they are now) of the limitations of that batch of carbon steel dies, but good of them to supply a higher quality die as a replacement. I’m sure you are a happy customer as a one day delay in the job is not important. They did not make much (read that as ‘any’ smiley) profit on that sale, but have a) retained a customer and b) will have gained with the positive publicity on the forum.

            I'll second that.

Tracy Tools are like that, they support customers.

I knocked my box of Metric Taps and Dies onto the floor. This cracked the thin plastic interior. When I asked at a Show if they could supply a replacement The response was, "Give me the type of set, your name and address, and we'll send one", "How much?" "F O C"; and they did!

One die split. At another Show, they took one look, "It's one of ours" and immediately handed a replacement to me.

That's why they are one of my preferred suppliers, for my small needs.

Recently I mistakenly, and through my own finger trouble, ordered two identical dies. Within the hour I had a phone call to enquire if I really meant to do this. When I said that it was entirely my error the nice guy on the other end said 'Not to worry, We will credit your PayPal account."

The first die arrived next morning, and the refund for the second was in my account immediately after the weekend.

Without doubt one of the best mail-order operators on the circuit. yes

And they still do Imperial sizes, unlike some who now provide solely Napoleon! kulou

And it is such a dangerous place to enter as you turn into a "tool-tart" and your wallet starts hanging onto the bottom of your pocket.

They used to be a major 'tourist attraction' when in Dartmouth for me, when going back to see mum and dad in Ashburton smiley

The piece I was making was this. About 15mm long.
