Shame – I lived about 3 miles away for 19 years before escaping to France, it was a lovely day out, lots of classic old iron, and a total distraction from everyday life.

It looks like it’s permanent, partly caused by the new anti-terrorism laws on public gatherings – “Martyn’s Law” ???

I didn’t attend this years event because of very poor weather reports, that turned out to be quite accurate, but have been probably around 10 times in recent years, always a good show to visit with plenty to see.
At least the museum is remaining open and there is a good display there of engines worth seeing.

The rally seems to havebeen a victim of rising costs, which everyone faces; but the blame for the public firework display’s cancellation is placed squarely on the so-called “Martin’s Law.”

If many big events simply become untenable for that, by demands that cannot be met or which simply deter people from attending, then I am afraid the terrorists as a whole, of any cause or none, will have the upper hand. If they are still determined to commit mass murder such laws will not stop them. They would just find other targets.
