John S or Ketan…..just had a look at Arc Euro collet blocks and I notice that the collet nut is available separately. Does this nut have the same thread as the spin indexer? ( I have banjoed mine….don't ask how).

          Hi Ketan,

Thanks for the info on the ER25 size.

It has been asked already – but cannot be seen in the pictures – are the blocks bored through to allow long stock holding?

          Thanks,

          John

They are drilled through. Not shown in the pictures but the description in the latest Arc Euro catalogue (Issue 7)

                Hi Mick,

sorry no, it is a standard nut, which is M40 x 1.5.

the thread on the spin indexer is a finer pitch, but I cant remember what it is.

Ian, the ER32 blocks are not in the No.7 catalogue, but will be in the No.8 catalogue which will be out soon…hopefully.

I gave my issue 7 catalogue away a couple of weeks ago to a friend who wanted to chose some ballraces. Anyway I clicked on the Arc Euro advert on this forum homepage which shows 'New Catalogue 7 'Out Now'!

The ER32 Stevenson blocks are shown as a new product but obviously only in the online catalogue so I was only a little bit wrong.

                        Sorry Ian,

Our advert on this forum needs changing. Catalogue 7 is old now. As soon as we publish our catalogue No.8, we will get get this advert changed…hopefully by around 11th April.

                        Ketan.

Following up on JJ's post about drill chucks there was an ME article some 15-20 years ago about mounting a chuck between 2 squared up plates by turning a shoulder on each end. I got as far as finding the hardened chuck didn't wish to cooperate with my HSS tools.

When you think about it there is potential for MT2 and MT3 blocks to hold the collets and devices to that standard.

                            Oh Poo sad

After waiting several months to compile an order just days later, after I submit it, something else I'd like turns up!

Never mind, here comes another order Ketan wink 2

These blocks are very nice just had a pair delivered from Arc EuroTrade, no more getting out & setting up the dividing head to machine that replacement for your lost chuck key.
