      So…. I’ve been using this blower system a bit and it’s pretty effective. Keeps the chips out of the way, allows me to turn my back on the CNC and let it get on with it. 👍

      So time to upgrade the noisy compressor, but the Hyundai HY7524 24l model I’d settled on is now out of stock everywhere, possibly not to return , who knows.

      It looks like the 8l model is too small, and the 50l model is too expensive.

      any other recommendations for a c. £150 silent compressor that’s really quiet? There are quite a few keenly priced Chinese models, but I don’t want to buy one and be disappointed.

        You don’t need much airflow. I use a spray gun type with a reservoir made from an empty gas cylinder.

          Apparently my noisy Stanley compressor is 24l 7.8 cfm. I reckon it is running about half the time, when delivering the airflow needed to blow away chips. Which is why I think the 24l Hyundai might be ok, but the little 8l one might not be.

           

          Happy to be corrected though.
