Milling a cam

There is a very good "You Tube" video entitled "cutting a single cam by Chuck Fellows"

I would like to know where I can obtain the math (US) or calculation to produce a cam.. Any advice will be very much appreciated.Thankyou.

It depends on the cam you want to cut. Your post gives insufficient information to answer it.

That's a neat method of cutting cams, and as that's what's stopping me finishing my IC engine, couldn't have been better timed.

Plenty of info to answer your question. There really is very little maths, it's a method described by Bill Wilkins in Model Engine Builder mag No 7 and made popular by Randall Cox on his "Hoglett" and "Open Six" engiens engine. You can buy digital back issues.

I did draw it out for someone but will have to see if I still have the image. Works well though, this is a 3 lobe cam done that way
