Hello all.

Does any one know of any machinery movers in the Birmingham area ?

Someone like landy lift would be ideal, just a bit closer.

I don't think distance is a problem for Steve at landylift. He recently moved my machines – a lathe, mill, shaper and bandsaw – from Leighton Buzzard to near Doncaster for what I thought was a very reasonable sum. Excellent and speedy service, he even helped me manoeuvre them to where they were to reside in the garage. Can't recommend him highly enough.

Distance may not be an issue for Steve, but the logistics and cost may be.

As Brian has indicated, Steve is a way off in West Yorkshire, and it of course has a bearing on where the items to be moved are – Steve's cost, quite rightly, will be based on what his round trip distance will be.

Last year I had to collect a 500kg lathe from Liverpool and bring it back to Suffolk.

Steve was one of the first people I contacted, but a West Yorkshire > Liverpool > Suffolk > West Yorkshire round trip was just not viable cost wise, and in the end I hired a local tail lift Luton van and went and collected it myself.

To be fair, Brian doesn't say the where from and to points are – so unless it's a local move, we can only guess. His profile only says he's in the UK, so he might want something shifted from Birmingham to Norwich, or Newcastle or just down the road. Who knows? Well, Brian, obviously, but he ain't sayin'. We can only offer recommendations based on our experience.

Never used him myself, but this chap advertises on ebay, and is close to you than Steve at Landylift
