I have a Axmister (SEIG) SC4 lathe with the vertical mill accessory. I’d like to fit an x – axis DRO to the lathe. I have a Machine DRO set-up. The original owner has fitted it to the cross travel and compound slide. This is fine if the compound slide is bob-on parallel to axis but misleading otherwise in x direction.

This problem I have is that my lathe has a large bracket to the rear of the bed supporting the mill that will get in the way of a ‘usual’ installation and the saddle apron extends down the full front face of the lathe making front mounting awkward.

THerefore I’m appealing here for help / hints on how to make this possible. Anyone done it and can help me?

        Thanks

        Simon
