      Hi

Could someone please recommend a decent quality ‘drag engraving bit’ that won’t break the bank? I don’t mind spending out, but I’m not sure how much use it will get after the project I’m working on is completed.

      Thanks in advance, Grubscrew

You can find inexpensive  3.175 mm (1/8″) ones on that well known auction site. I find the 120 degree ones give a more visible line than  90 degree ones.  They need to be used in a spring loaded holder for best results.

I bought a cheapo spring loaded one off Amazon or eBay last year at some point. I’ve been very happy with it – it’ll engrave on anything I’ve tried putting under it, and can easily crank out tiny, intricate details.
