Trailing behind my good lady in IKEA today I spotted one of these black snake stemmed worklights:

I positioned it over the lathe, switched on and was amazed at how bright it illuminated the job. Even with two 48 LED arrays shining down (from beneath the shelf) this photo of the chucked job looks dark:

It's called JANSJO (should be an umlat over the last "O" but life's to short to find out how to do it on this site). With its DC adaptor this LED worklight will cost you a tenner. Recommended!
PS – George mechman – the job in the chuck is a part finished friction ring of your design for the top slide on my WM250V-F. Its finished and fitted now and works a treat. Thanks for the tip.
