Another unknown tool

I've had this for years, having rescued it from the firm I used to work for.

It came with a second hand lathe and wasn't part of the tooling that the firm wanted.

There are 3 cutters inside and it appears to be for machining the ends of bars using the adaptors (1 missing)

If anyone has more information then I would be most grateful.

Looks kind if like a tapping head. what does the little sign on the box say?

Can't really tell. can you take a pic looking into the business end? is it perhaps a capstan fitting for reducing the end of a bar before the next tool threads it, bit like a small chip stream roller box?

The discs with holes locate into a recess inside the part with the holes around.

Yes, I think that is what it is, although with different grinds on the tool, you could radius, chamfer, etc. It's unusual. No makers name?

Thanks Phil, there is a makers name on the wooden box, it has a name plate stating "Machine Shop Equipment Ltd. London SW1".

I'did try to find out some information about them but without success.

According to Graces Guide they were engineers instrument makers over the war years. Seem to go on till the early 50s.
